The Garland 1029410 Thermocouple 18" 20-30mV 1980 Series is a temperature sensor that is installed in a gas range ignition system, to detect the presence of flames during operation. This section produces a millivolt signal upon heating, and it is utilized to control the flow of gas by linking it to the safety valve assembly. It is mounted in the close by of the burner region, where it receives direct heat which in turn facilitates the proper signal output under normal cooking conditions. It is used to make sure that gas delivery is only made when ignition is detected.
