The Comstock Castle COMT46 Thermocouple of the 1980 Series is a temperature-sensing element that produces a millivolt signal when it is heated by a flame. It is installed to fit compatible commercial appliances, where it detects the presence of flames during operation. The supply is a 20-30 mV output to the fuel, which can only permit the flow of fuel when the right amount of heat is perceived. It is a component of the ignition and control circuit within the system.
