The Hobart 844329 Contactor is an electrical switching part, which is applied in the switching of high-current circuits in commercial foodservice systems. It functions through the energising of an internal electromagnetic coil to open or close four power contacts to allow regulated electrical supply at specified inductive and resistive ratings. In a professional kitchen, the appliance is installed in the electrical control panel with the contactor mounted. When operating in normal cycles it regulates the flow of power to heating elements or motors based on signals received by timers, thermostats or control boards in the overall system.
