The Southbend SOU1183200 Commercial Oven Hot Surface Igniter is a component of an ignition system that is fitted in compatible burners. It operates by an electric signal which generates heat or a spark which allows gas released to burn in the burner assembly. The ignitor is attached to the combustion or burner chamber of the oven and connected to the ignition control circuit. In the oven system, it forms part of the ignition process which initiates the burner and supports in the controlled heating in the normal cooking cycles.
