The Southbend 1177545 Oven Hot Surface Igniter is a replacement part that works by heating or sparking upon the application of power, and the gas released to the burner is ignited during start-up. The ignitor is used in catering is placed in the burner and combustion chamber of the oven and wired to the ignition control circuit. In the oven system, it is a component of the ignition cycle that allows the controlled lighting of burners and allows normal heating cycles during cooking processes.
