The Southbend 1182580 Thermocouple 24" 1970 Series is a temperature sensor component that is installed to detect the presence of flame in gas burners in compatible gas-fired cooking appliances. This thermocouple produces a low electrical signal of 20-30 millivolts when the sensing tip is hot due to a flame, and this is used to control the flow of gas during ignition and continuous operation.
