The Southbend 1167432 Oven Fire Plate 25-7/8" LR X 20-7/8" FB operates through the absorption of the high-intensity heat of the burners and an even distribution of it throughout the lower appliance. This robust metal element serves as a thermal buffer, not allowing any direct flame. The plate is positioned right above the burner assembly at the bottom of the oven cavity to provide a stable base on which the air flows and heat is controlled. The heating elements are completely covered to provide uniform thermal output when in use.
