The Southbend 1167004 Oven Fire Plate is a part that works by direct absorption of the thermal energy of the burner system and is uniformly dispersed throughout the cooking chamber. This part is designed with a 25-7/8" LR X 20-7/8" FB to ensure even distribution of temperature across the air cavity during normal commercial use. This metal construction is heavy and it forms a thermal buffer that eliminates hot spots by diffusing high-heat flames. The plate, which is placed directly over the burner assembly and directly below the bottom oven deck, is a vital heat shield in the interior unit.
