The Crown Steam 3-TST4 Kettle Steam Trap is used with a thermostatic element that detects the temperature difference between the steam and the cooler condensate. When steam flows into the system, the component swells to close the valve, and the cooler air or condensate builds up, and the part contracts, releasing the waste. This element is placed at the bottom of the kettle in the plumbing return line. The fact that it is present makes sure that non-condensable gases and liquids are continuously pumped out of the internal heating chamber to ensure that the thermal exchange remains consistent throughout the operation.
