The Star Mfg 2R-Z22153 Counter Balance Split Top is a mechanical support part, which is fitted in compatible commercial cooking equipment to aid in the controlled opening and closing of dual-section lids or access panels. It is fitted at the hinge points of the split top assembly and balances the weight of each part to make it easier and more secure for the user. It assists in the reduction of pressure, and enhances access when loading, checking, or cleaning. This counterbalance is normally installed or changed during maintenance to regain normal operation of the lid in the commercial kitchen setting.
