The Star Mfg 2E-Y2342 Fuse 5A 600V works by breaking the electric circuit when the current passing through it is more than the rated current, thereby eliminating the possibility of damaging the parts it is connected to. It does this by melting its internal component when overloaded and shorting the circuit immediately. This fuse is installed in commercial kitchen equipment and other appliances that can be used with its voltage and amperage range. It is made to fit into the correct fuse holders and therefore it provides a better control of the circuit by reacting appropriately to electrical variations.
