The Star Mfg 2E-31400-15 Electronic Griddle Transformer is used to convert 480V electrical input to 24V power output to operate internal control circuits. The process of electromagnetic induction is used to make sure that the sensitive electronic components obtain particular low-voltage current required to operate without being directly exposed to the primary power supply. This element is fitted in internal electrical enclosure of the cooking part between the incoming power conductors and the digital controller. This step-down unit is a component of power distribution architecture of the machine and is required to ensure the voltage threshold is met to ensure consistent operations.
