The Star Mfg 2E-301279 Control Board Water Level HTI-2 operates by receiving electrical signals sent by the immersion probes to check the amount of liquid in the tank. A board is activated by the drop of water to a predetermined level and sends a signal to a solenoid valve that starts a refill cycle until the required level is achieved. It is an electronic part, that is placed in the primary control holder, not in direct contact with moisture, and clamped to the chassis by standoffs. It has integrated relays and terminal pins connecting directly to the heating element.
