The Nor-Lake 137373 Drain Pan Heater is an electric heat strip that is installed in the drain pan of a refrigeration unit to ensure that the pan is not frozen by freezing water on the pan surface. It is installed under or beside the drain pan and is attached to the electrical system of the unit, heating up any condensation that collects in it and directing it to the drain in a normal manner. It assists in the extraction of the condensate during defrost and normal operation to ensure that the water evacuation is maintained.
