The Manitowoc 76-0160-3 Ice Thickness Probe is a temperature sensor installed to detect the thickness of the ice formation in an ice machine. This probe identifies the presence of ice on the evaporator and sends signals to the control system to regulate the transitions between the cycles in the normal operation. It is applied in commercial ice machines where accuracy in feedback on the development of ice is needed to aid in the proper timing of freezing and harvesting. It is attached to the internal ice-making assembly and attached to the control board, a component of the sensing network.
