The Kason 1097-000004 Spring Operated Door Closer works through the use of an internal spring mechanism that stores energy when the entrance is opened and releases the energy to make sure that the gate returns to the closed position in a controlled manner. This is a tension-based system that is driven by a hidden coiled spring that provides a steady mechanical force without using hydraulic fluids. The unit is attached to the hinge side of the frame, at the point of contact of the roller arm with the door surface.
