The Hussmann 3083939 Compressor Kit R404A/R-448A/R449A/R452A 208-230V 1PH 60Hz is a component that works by an internal motor that drives a piston or scroll mechanism that forces low-pressure refrigerant gas to be pressurized to a high pressure. The temperature and density of the vapor are raised in this mechanical compression and then the vapor is circulated through the condenser coils. The unit is placed in the condensing part, which is usually at the bottom or top of the refrigeration cabinet. This is a hermetically sealed assembly that is the main pump in the whole cooling system.
