The Hoshizaki DR-31-P Filter Drier is an essential part of refrigeration systems that helps to eliminate moisture and contaminants that can harm internal components of the system. It also removes the moisture in the refrigerant line so that it does not freeze to make ice and block the system and also reduces the efficiency of the system. This filter drier operates with the assistance of a desiccant material, which may be activated alumina and silica gel packed in a metal container. When the refrigerant is passing through the drier the desiccant gets to absorb moisture and other dirt particles from the refrigerant.
