The Hobart 00-277112 Vacuum Breaker chrome plated brass 3/4" NPT is to prevent backflow, which helps to provide clean water and safe dishwasher running. This stretchable part functions by permitting the free flow of water in one direction preventing backflow of water that would cause contamination to the water line. It is designed to be chrome-plated brass, which resists corrosion and has durability and is used to securely connect with a 3/4" NPT thread which has a sturdy and lasting thread. The better alternative is to use in commercial dishwashers.
