The Globe 880051 Slicer Snap Ring is a retaining system that is designed to be inserted into a machined groove on a 1/2 inch shaft to hold bearings, gears, or other components in place in a slicer assembly. It is expanded over the shaft and pushed into place to limit the axial movement of the adjacent components. Its application is in instances where internal parts are to be held in place stably in normal operation. In the entire assembly, the component facilitates proper spacing and helps in the proper alignment of the parts that are joined together.
