The Cleveland SSK00398-1 Pilot Assembly Natural Gas T1 is used to start the heating process by forcing a minimal amount of propane through an electrode to keep a steady flame. This standing flame then burns the main burner system after a heat signal is sent to the gas valve. This component is attached directly to the ignition bracket of the combustion chamber of the compatible steam equipment. The assembly has a protective hood to make sure that the flame is not exposed to internal drafts. It acts as a point of contact between the gaseous supply and ignition sequence.
