The Southbend 4344-1 Thermocouple 48 inch Long is a temperature-sensing system that is utilized in gas-fired equipment to measure the presence of the flame and thermal conditions. This thermocouple produces a small electrical signal depending on the amount of heat at the flame source which is utilized by the control system to control the gas supply and safe operation. It is applied in commercial ranges, ovens, and other such appliances where the feedback on the status of the flame is needed regularly. The 48-inch thermocouple is connected between the flame area and the control valve assembly.
