Description

The Bakers Pride M1296A Thermocouple 72" 2030mV is a high-duty thermal sensing component that is used to identify the presence of flames and to aid in safe gas use in a heating system. This part works by generating a millivolt signal when it is exposed to heat, and this signal is used to control flow of gas in the ignition process and in the continuous operation. It is applied in the actual service settings in case of installation or replacement to ensure proper flame monitoring and response to shutdown. The 72-inch length facilitates flexible routing by equipment assemblies.

Step1: Shut off the gas supply and allow the unit to cool completely.

Step2: Locate the thermocouple positioned near the pilot flame assembly.

Step3: Unscrew the connection from the gas control valve carefully.

Step4: Remove the old thermocouple from its mounting bracket.

Step5: Install the new thermocouple in the same position.

Step6: Secure the connection to the valve tightly.

Step7: Restore gas flow and test the pilot.

Step8: Avoid bending the thermocouple tip.
